A group of refugees, among them Omar, a gifted Syrian oud player, await the outcome of their asylum request on the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The film follows Omar as he navigates being stuck, not knowing whether his application is successful. In the interim, he forms unexpected connections and friendships while also encountering the dangers lurking in the bleak rural landscapes of the island.
